Battle Chasers Nightwars has to be one of the best indie turn based RPG games I have played in awhile. I picked it up on Steam during a summer Steam sale and I enjoyed it throughly. I beat the main game but I didn’t start New Game plus. So when I saw that Battle Chasers Nightwars was available on GeForce Now, I decided to continue my game in new game plus on it.
Everything played just fine for the free version. Here are the stats for the game session. It’s not high definition due to using the free version. It’s unfortunate that the game is only in 720p. This tells me that not all the GeForce Now cloud systems are standardized running the same hardware. I even get a box running a GTX 1080 after this session…..but that’s not biggest problem I have with GeForce Now.

With a game like Battle Chasers Nightwars, it’s imperative that you have enough time to get through the dungeons. This is exactly the problem I faced when I played. I didn’t have enough time. If you know anything about this game, you will know it resets your dungeon progression if you quit your game too soon. You’ll have to rush through the dungeon again not knowing if you’ll actually get through it for certain.
As Expected?
Now of course you’re gonna say “dude, it’s free. What did you expect?” And I agree. However it is good to know the limitations of the free version.
Not only do you play on a lower graphics setting, you also only get an hour a session. Sure you can login again right after if you don’t have others waiting to get on but, if your game you are playing requires playing for a certain time, then you will need to choose your game accordingly.
Limiting Game Types
I suggest only playing games on the free version of GeForce Now that are pick up and play. These games allow you to stop when necessary. I also suggest a game where you know missions or levels are short enough to get through under an hour. That means no raids for you hardcore MMO gamers. That also means you Warframe survival mode fans.
Granted, you can play free on PC, Android, Mac, and now Chromebook. You can also play with ant Bluetooth controller as well. But, just make sure you are aware of what the free version of GeForce Now is and what you can do with it. You can always upgrade to the Founders edition and eliminate the limited hour time on top of getting a better hi-definition gaming experience. We’ll have more on the GeForce Now founders version soon.
Overview
So if you are new to GeForce Now and you are looking to get started with the free version, I suggest only playing games that are pick up and play. The type of games that allow you to sop when necessary.
Just make sure you are aware of what the free version of GeForce Now is and what you can do with it because the last thing you want is to play that level you took an hour to beat all over again.
