Welcome to the battle of the pickup n play cloud gaming platform titans. While GeForce Now is superior to Boosteroid as of now, Boosteroid’s performance as of late has been very comparable, especially in the video quality department. As both have Destiny 2 in their game lineup and is also a free game, many gamers might want to know which platform plays Destiny 2 the best.
Destiny 2 on GeForce Now
Starting with GeForce Now, you can actually play Destiny 2 on GeForce Now for completely free. Since you can sign up to play GeForce Now using the free version, playing the PC version of Destiny 2 through Steam on any device GeForce Now supports is a breeze. Be aware you only get an hour time slot playing free though.
GeForce Now usually plays most of their games at 1080p and at 60 fps, but with Destiny 2, I’ve noticed that they run the game at a resolution of 1366×768. This resolution doesn’t hinder any performance though. GeForce Now also has excellent low controller and mouse and keyboard lag. Take a look at some gameplay featuring both.
Shots are right on the money no matter what input device you use. Using NVIDIAs custom cloud server technology, they can provide a very stellar quality cloud gaming experience and will only get better.
Destiny 2 on Boosteroid
Boosteroid is climbing the ranks recently and has been really killing it with their service. Even though Destiny 2 is free to play, you do have subscribe to the service to actually play games on Boosteroid. They offer it though Steam just like GeForce Now.
In terms of competing with GeForce Now on graphics and video quality, Boosteroid is extremely similar in just about every aspect. They run the game in 1080p at 60 fps in most games just like this one.
They only real caveat with playing with Boosteroid at this moment is the input lag. Since their servers are in Europe and I am in the US, the distance between my closest Boosteroid server is long. This makes my latency high which hurts my response time.
This should change soon though, as Boosteroid is adding new servers to North America very soon. Once they do, we’ll circle back to see how well the response time will be.
Overview
Both platforms play Destiny 2 very well. Graphics and video quality are both top notch. I do have to say though, that Boosteroid does present a better video at true 1080p. We’ll have to wait and see if future Boosteroid servers in North America will help the input lag to be a real competitor to GeForce Now. Until then, GeForce Now definitely reins king in this comparison if you are playing in the US.
