Shadow has finally dropped some upgrades for their service. After several weeks of waiting and basically no real good news from the newly bought out cloud gaming service, we get some good news about the upgrades to the platform and some other news as well.
Shadow Upgrades
Shadow actually came through and delivered on their promise to release dual screen support and 4:4:4 video color enhancement. This update to the Shadow app just launched recently so if you haven’t used your Shadow app in a while, open the app to automatically apply the update.
Please note that if you will be using the dual screen feature, it will use double the bandwidth and double CPU speed to handle the video decoding.
Along with the dual screen support, your dual videos will look great with the 4:4:4 video color upgrade. This way you can have the best picture so your games can look more like you are using a home PC. Be aware that this is more CPU intensive as well. So if you have really old PC, use with caution.
Activations update
In other Shadow news, they announced a small tidbit on current activations. They state that activations are under way and since they are partnered with OVHcloud, the activations will speed up due to the massive cloud resources OVHcloud has worldwide.
Remember that OVHcloud is one of the biggest cloud companies in the world. So will Shadow truly benefit from this buyout? Time will tell – Hopefully, sooner than later. One thing is for sure, this exercise in activations could be a big test in whether being a partner with OVHcloud will really help Shadow or not.
Shadow company expansion
Shadow is also hiring! They have been posting various new job postings for a bunch of new positions in the company. This can only mean they are preparing for ‘aggressive expansion’.
In my opinion, this is finally a good sign for great things to come for the platform. I’m sure everyone is thoroughly eager to see what Shadow has in store for us in the near future.
